Margaret Atwood was born on November 18, 1939, in Ottawa, Ontario. She has a wide range of published works. She writes poems, novels, essays, and even had other forms of showing her work. What makes her stand out in my opinion is that she does not focus on one type of writing. She has a selection of works and not only focuses on one age group. Atwood has also published some children's books. Due to her great work, she is known as an award winning Canadian poet, writer as well as an essayist. Other than the Penelopiad, some of her other popular and award winning books are known as "The Handmaid's tail," and "cats eye." You can find more information about her and her published works here. Additionally, this website includes other information about her and some of her earlier life.
